InternetPe is a platform for boosting progressive content in India.

In Hindi, Internet Pe literally means “on the internet” but can be translated to “online”.

India has sadly emerged as one of the global hubs of misinformation and disinformation. The Indian Internet is teeming with abuse, violence, child porn, and other such illegal, toxic content. No concerted effort has been undertaken by civil society or entrepreneurs to tackle this problem at scale.

Currently, the most widely used platforms in India are the dominant global ones. Seeing India merely as the largest emerging digital market, these companies and their algorithms promote problematic content because of its addictive nature instead of doing something to check its spread. No significant digital platform has been developed locally to promote better content for public consumption.

We seek to address these problems by building an aggregator that promotes quality informative, educational, and entertaining content.

Our aim is to shift content consumption patterns in India in a better direction because the most populated country in the world is increasingly more divided and eroding its own democracy as a direct result of the profit-chasing policies and algorithms of the prevalent digital platforms.

At present, we are only focused on English, Hindi, and Hinglish content.
